It should work fine as long the springs can hold a .600 Lift, Comp 921 dual springs would be recomended.
My friend has 99 ws6 with stock LS1 heads. 921 dual springs with cam that is 604 Lift and it work great and his car is an A4.

You should be fine as long as its properly TUNED

I think it should be fine as well, but if I were you I would contact someone who really knows. If it is going to be close I would clay it as well.
