Default 1999 Trans am almost fully built 6,300??

Ok my friend is finally selling his TA for $6,300 as far as I know it was a salvage car but car is fully built with low mileage custom paint job ect ect whats your opinion this is all I know from the car

around 65000 miles on the odometer
custom paint job may need a good retouch but still good
salvage title but it was something small I just can't remember because me and him used to know the original owner

It has everything
heads cam intake
headers
nitrous
P&P throttle body
I think either an aftermarket intake or LS6 intake
viper stage 2 t56 build
racing seats
monster stage 3 clutch
micket thomson et streets on aluminium centerline racing rims

Cons it needs suspensions work (because the car is too much power and doesn't hook )
And the rearend wines it has aftermarket gears 4.11 I believer or 3.73s

pictures stole from my friends fb lol

Way too high IMO. The same advice applies just like your other thread.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/what-wort...k-salvage.html
By looking at heavily modded salvage title cars you are setting yourself up for major disappointment. I understand these 'already built' high performance type cars appeal to you but I'm posting (on your behalf) about the financial repercussions that you will feel if you make a purchase like this. If you paid $6,000 or similar for a car like this you will easily have thousands more into it in no time at all. Imagine having $9,000 into this car and then you have to sell it in an emergency or you just get tired of fixing it after 6 months. You would get $3,500 - $4,000 for it, maybe much less. That would hurt.
If your heart is set on a car like this, at least pay the right price. I won't post anymore in your threads if you don't want me to. I don't mean to be a downer. Just say so. Best of luck!

no actually want to hear your opinion that's why I posted them, but this is different the other one was complete garbage when I looked at it in person this one at least I've seen it once before and it was in good running condition and really powerful, this salvage car was something like hail damage or something like that that's why they repainted in custom color, and its a low mileage car even if it has mods does it count? As long as its not being pushed too far whats a good asking price?

OK, I agree that this one appears better but $6,000 is too high. To reduce your potential 'downside' in case things don't work out, pay as little as possible. $3,500- $4,000 would lessen the risk.
Always think down the road a bit and what you could get for the car. If you bought it for $6,000 tomorrow and had to sell it the next day, you would NOT get $6,000 for it. Highly unlikely. That's the way you have to think. Get it for $4,000 and you are that much ahead. Salvage titled cars are very tough to sell. Hail, floods, it doesn't matter. The current owner is in that situation now. The advantage is all yours. Good luck!

Maybe, maybe not. We also don't know what he accepted for a price. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Default Having fun with 'smilies'...

.... but also a serious message here.
Make sure you aren't being 'played' by your friend.
A loan for a 14 year old salvage title car???
If you buy this car I don't want to see any new posts with this at the end.
Be careful, re-read the advice on this thread, and don't overpay.

Ls6 block doesn't mean its going to handle the power of a h/c/I + n2o setup forever... just saying... it seems like your heart is there for the car.. I say buy it if you truely feel it in you..
