Default Sail Roof Panel Help! - indented up every 8 inches

I'm looking at a decent looking Z28 tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone had encountered an issue with their roof panel where every 8 inches or so the panel looks slightly dented out, like there were rivets that came undone.

The car apparently had minor a-pillar damage in 2003 from a previous owner that I can't find out about. I'm wondering if this could be related.

Does anyone know anything about this?

I wish I could find pictures, but I won't be able to see it well until I go down to look at it.

i think what you are describing is a paint/primer flaw from the factory. there was a recall or TSB on it awhile back which was only good for so long or so many miles after 2002. if that's what it is then i think the good news is just that panel can be repainted fairly easy. Mine started to bubble a few years ago but thankfully it's mostly unnoticeable.

Yup. That's the infamous glue bubbles. It'll need a replacement panel to fix it. Either a used panel pulled from a 93-97 (many but not all 98s were OK but I wouldn't risk it), or a new one from 6LE.
