Default Tranmy cooler size question

Do I have to have the biggest cooler they sell for my 4000 stall? Isn't the 15000 BTU plenty big? Personally I thought the 13000btu/smallest cooler would be as efficient as any. Maybe I'm wrong though and should get the bigger 20/29000 btu? Alittle help before I order please.

When my converter goes in, I'm going to use the one designed for 10k lb gvw. It's the middle of the road one. I don't see much of a need for the larger one. I also plan on putting a trans temp gauge in to monitor it. That will tell me if I need to step up the cooler size or not.

when it comes to a trans cooler....bigger is better
especially with a High stall RPM....

if you even have a basic understanding of how an automatic transmission works, then you understand just how much heat a larger stall will make.

and for reference...
I have a cooler rated for 28000 btu....
with a 5k stall in my TCI 6x...
I never see trans temps above 180*... even when hotlapping the car at the track
Cruising around town, middle of the summer, 100*+ air temps.... still usually only see 160*

26k here. Like 14" x 10" in size, -6 AN hoses, 8" 5500 stall, never goes above 160 street driving in heat. Get on it and it gets around 175-180 but never over, ever.
