Signal bulb holder corroded, simple replace?

Signal bulb holder corroded, simple replace? Hi all,
I recently posted about the signal light not working and it turns out that the plastic casing that holds the bulb and the bulb holder was filled with water!
So I drilled a tiny hole to let the water out and then looked at the bulb, bulb was fine but the bulb holder is corroded. I tried to clean it inside but no luck
My plan is to simply replace the bulb holder, I have found one on ebay thats prewired so I will carefully cut the wires on the old one, then fit the new one and hope that works.
Do you think that would be ok?
