Should I keep my 96 ws6 or buy a 02 ws6
Hello everyone I own a 96 ws6 that has cc503 cam, 1.6 roller rockers, 3000 stall, longtube headers, slp exhaust, and le1 heads. I bought the car already having these mods and it has 112,xxx miles. I am currently working on getting a dyno tune for it and my friend is selling his 02 ws6. His car has around 60,xxx miles and he wants around 12k for it. I was thinking about selling my car and buying his because it is in great shape and my car still needs minor work. What are your thoughts on this? My car is prett quick and run but an 02 ws6 is pretty sweet. If some people could let me know their thoughts that would be great. Thanks for looking

If you got the money, I'd go for it. I just got rid of my 96 z28 for a 98 ws6. The lt1 is badass specially with a cc503, but the ls1 just opens more doors for you IMO.
Also 2002 is the last year they were made, so that makes it a bit more special. Just try to drop the price closer to 10k if you go for it.

01-02 over 98-00 always because of the ls6 intake. I have a stock lt1 and stock ls1 and i much prefer the ls1. but you have a cammed lt1, the ls1 would probably feel a bit slower, but it might be close depending on your supporting mods.
I would personally make the switch if you can get the price down a bit. I'm very happy with my ls1 over my lt1 for looks and performance, but getting rid of one for the other only makes sense in the right situation

Thanks for the comments I appreciate It and just to see who knows their stuff, with the mods listed in my original post what do u guys think my car would do in the quarter? Cc503 cam, le1 heads, 3000 stall, longtube headers, slp exhaust, and stock rear end. Let me know I'm curious to what people think it can run and put down on the dyno, thanks

If I were you, and could afford to have both, then do so. If I had to have just one then the '02 would be the way to go IMO. Are you looking for the best possible numbers on the rollers or at the track? As it's been said the '02 will open more doors for you, but if you're not looking to live your life a quarter mile at a time then pick the car that looks best to you; the one that you like more...

Personally I would keep your 96, I own a 96 trans am and love it compared to my friend s 01 ws6. They do have they ls6 intake yes, and tend have more engine quality over lt1. But the body style is different amongst other things it just depends which body style you like really. Just my 2 cents.

I like the redesigned center console that came out in 1997. It's amazing how much better it is than the console in my 1994 Firebird. And of course the lS1 engine is wonderful. On the other hand it's getting more rare to see a factory LT1 WS6 TA anymore. I would see your 96 as more exclusive. And just because his 2002 appears to be in great shape there are probably a few things that need fixed that you don't know about.
