Default P1SC procharged 5.3 which cam?

I recently bought a Silverado with a stock 5.3 that has a P1SC, intercooled, long tube headers, dual 2.5" exhaust, and 3600 stall. So my question what do I do to it next? I know I will be upgrading the fuel system and thinking about what intake/cam to go with. Maybe LS6 stuff or aftermarket? Not really trying to break the bank if I don't have to but if you fellas know of better stuff for the money I am all ears!

Thanks LS1Tech!!

I have a 5.3 and most likely will go with LS6 cam and Camp Bee Hive springs

Thanks for the info! Would swapping out the stock intake for an Ls6 be worth the trouble? If so what would I need to do the swap properly?

The Ls6 intake is no better than the stock truck intake.

The stock 5.3 intake does that well above 500hp? The truck already makes 430. I never would have thought that it would perform similarly to the ls6 manifold.

The only reason people don't run the truck intakes is because they're so tall.

We just put our Stage 1 Blower Cam in a 5.3 that we're putting in a C5 Vette with a D1SC.

Specs are 226/234 .59x/.61x 115+3. It should run very well and make great power. I normally cam 5.3's very similarly to a 5.7 as they both utilize 3.622" strokes and 6.098" rods which means they spend the exact same amount of dwell time at TDC and BDC.

Also our Stage 1 Street Heat cam which is 221/226 .609"/.605" 115+2 might work better in your heavier truck and still be great with a Procharger. Anything bigger than those two is going to make that truck a dog down low.

Thanks for the info! The truck weighs 4600 if that helps. It will see some mild street time and mainly looking to help the mid-top end. Also some sound at idle would be nice as well...

At 4600lbs with a 5.3l I would stay in the low to mid 220s on the intake. Too much more and it will not 60ft that well even with the loose converter.

The 221/226 is pretty docile at idle, and sounds a lot like a TR224 on a 114, if you wanted a little more thump we could do a custom cam and put it on a 114 or 113 even.
