Mti R1 Cam Feedback Please
I'm thinking of running a R1 (232/236, 0.575/0.578 114 lsa) to shoot N2O on a forged 347.
Anyone running that cam, please post feedback: gains, dyno graph, et's etc..... and of course problems.
I think this cam should remain very streetable with an A4 yet turn into a monster with N2O and ls6 stage II heads. Am I wrong??

I am currently running the R1 cam in my 346 with my AS speed s2 heads.
I also have a a4
specs on my cam are 232/236 .575/.578 112+4
I made 431/422 with this setup N/A
The cams peak hp was at 6100 ( 431hp ) and still was over 420hp at 6800.
With the cam on the 112+4 you need a good tuner ( which i do N0G0 at eastside <-- its a plug but its true). I think if i were to pick up another one i would get the 114 for the a4 cars. Mine is fine but the 114 woud be alittle smoother.
BTW my car is driven daily and everyone like the way it sounds with this cam.
I will hook up a nice n.o.s kit onto it in the future but I still have to do some other work to the car ( suspension / tires /etc) before I spray it.
I am not sure why more people are not running this cam ( It could be that on MTI website it says for strokers only *) but this is a kick *** cam for a 346 and the lift isnt too high so it wont kill your springs.
Hope that helps if you have any other questions feel free to ask away
I havent had this combo to the track.
Here is my dyno sheet . We had to start high so it wouldnt downshift as we couldnt lock it in gear.

Thanks Jeremy,
that's is exactly what I was looking for.
Like you I was wondering why this cam is overlooked as a potent power adder.Perhaps it's the "recomended for strokers" bit but also with a 114lsa it will pull till or beyond 7000 rpm which can scare poeple on a stock bottom end (hense my application would be a forged 347).
With Nitrous I think this cam will deliver ammazing results, while remaining very street friendly in an A4.
