Both 2000 and 2002 cars have tach signal sent by serial bus from PCM to cluster.
#10 white wire goes to ABS module.
It does not really matter which color wire is from serial data, they are all spliced together. The original one is gray from splice pack to IPC

When they say RED as you put it, that means when you look at your harness there is a red connection and a blue connection. The red you will physically see when you disconnect the harness from the computer. The computer itself also has it written in ink on the blue. The pins are numbered under the grey safety cover on the wiring connector. 1 thru 80.

lol yes the pcm red connector has pin number 10 as engine speed output that goes to the tach. and yes your right it doesnt really matter what color it is, mine is white. I just need to know where that wire goes after it leaves the pcm. so it has to goto one of the c connectors either 220 or 230 in order to get to the ipc.I have it as gray going to the cluster on my printouts. I'm just lost on what lettered slot to put it in.none of the printouts of the 220 and 230 have anything listed for tach or speed output or anything that would be close lol. so i figured one of the two serial buses not sure if it;s the primary or secondary one. And I apologize i should have been clearer in my first post this is a repin from a 24x conversion. If I was putting this harness in a LT1 car I would be done already. as I know where it would go...I have a LS car (2002) thats why I cant figure out where that wire goes. so i asked the generalized question as where does the cluster get it's tach signal from. sorry about that.

Default #10 wire go?

I don't know if you got your answer yet, but it goes to the EBCM through C105 G, pin 11 at the EBCM. Hope that helps.
