Default SSRA gap?

Was underneath the Camaro yesterday taking a peak at something and I realized something about my SSRA. Unlike in this picture (not my camaro but shows the sides completely sealed off)

I have a gap on the sides? Where the two pieces come together, It doesn't look like a big gap, but big enough to me. I lost my install instructions and couldn't tell if a gap is even suppose to exist there?

My Camaro was involved in a minor front accident (according to my car fax). So that shouldn't effect it should it? I tried fiddling it a bit to close the gap, but I cannot get the bottom of the SSRA to the location it should be at. If I push it up all the way to try and close the gap it rubs against the hood latch? and loses its shape and form.

Very interesting! I am about ready to pull the trigger on one of these..either the SSRA or Chris1313. I have to wonder if the same possibility could exist with the Chris1313 as well

I'm going to say that something is bent. The bottom piece(scoop) should slide into the upper so there is no gap on the side.

Something is not right for sure. None of my ssra setups ever looked like that.

So the top and bottom are suppose to interlock into one another allowheing no gaps anywhere?.. Damn!

When I feel a little bit better from this tiny flu. I will pull the Camaro into the garage and show how big of gap. And how bad it rubs on the little hatch brace or whatever it is called.

Like the others have said, the bottom piece slides into the upper piece, no gap.

IDK, maybe I didn't push it all the way up as I could have when I installed it. could of swore the bracket was disforming it when I pushed in more.

flu is gone..just waiting for it to be a tad bit warmer. No heat in the garage really sucks.
