Default What the final word on repairing a block with spun cam bearing?

I've searched till I'm blue in the face. Have found a lot of questions unanswered and answers I have found don't seem credible.

If you have say an LY6 (Iron 6.0) with a spun cam bearing, what the proper method to fix this without going to a roller bearing? What bearing do you use for the repair?

Also, I have a pair of LFA's (Aluminum 6.0) that have worn cam bearings. What the recommended replacement cam bearing and is there any special procedure to use to install the new ones to prevent spinning or walking?

Thanks!

Shops used to bore out the bores for fitting an oversize cam bearing shell.
You might give Callies Performance in Fosteria, OH a call.

thanks for the suggestion. I'll give them a call if I don't get any other leads. I'm not a fan of harvesting info from shops when I have no intent of giving them my business. I would be having the block work done locally.

Were your bearings spun or just worn?

One slightly spun and one was stuck on cam and they had to pull it
Out. Bought a 06 lq4 from a rolled over express van.

After that and the fact it had one damn near brand new head on it when I got it I figured it was going to be a pain. But no issues and very strong.
