Default Blew my rear end and snapped my driveshaft in 2

Alright so I was at the San Antonio raceway and first run down the track, did a nice burnout and at the launch I snapped my driveshaft in 2 pieces. So I somehow got another driveshaft put it on and ran down the track again only to blow out my rear end. It sounds like I sheered the teeth off the axel shaft or the carrier but I located a complete rear end for 75 bucks. Since the enlightenment of tax season I need a built rear end and driveshaft, any suggestions? I'm only pushing maybe 450 to the wheels

Sorry to hear that bud. What rear end did you have? 10bolt? If thats the case your better off buying a better rear end. Have any pics?

Yes stock 10 bolt but as the old saying goes you got to pay to play so its time to build a solid rear end

Stock aluminum driveshafts arent good for crap, a bonestock F-Body can break it with ease you had slicks? Drag radials?

I had street tires on but I wasn't the only on breaking on the launch, what I think happened is that my rear brakes locked up from the heat and expanded the fluid to cause this in turn locking the brakes to the rotor. The drivers side rear rotor has scrapes from when we pushed the car so that is what I believe occurred. I'm not to worry since I got another stock 10 bolt for cheap and ill use that till I order my built rear end after tax season

That's crazy it snapped like that.. Lucky you were able to find another cheap 10 bolt. If you know how to rebuild them, you could rebuild that one you just got and add a few small upgrades to at least help it stay together until you get a better one.

A girdle and solid pinion spacer never hurts.

Keep an eye on that output shaft as it seems like the whole driveline took a pretty hard hit. Did you have a ds loop?

As said above on the small upgrades, if you can at least get a solid pinion spacer in it it will help.

No DS loop or anything, at the track I swapped the aluminum "2 piece" I created for a steel DS one off a Firebird. To my luck it fit like charm but I was unfortunate to break my drivers side axel as that's where the noise is coming from and the brake pad seems to locked onto the rotor
