Auto vs manual Might be buying an 02 ws6 and my brother has an 04 gto, they are both manual and I was wondering what people think is faster. For the most part mod for mod would an auto or manual ls1 win? I love driving a stalled auto but a manual has more control and more feel to it. Give me some opinions on which is faster an auto or manual ls1. And just for fun would an 02 ws6 or 04 gto both manual which would win from a dig?

Sorry, this topic brings nothing but flame wars and arguements of opinion. No tech value at all.
Some research in the auto and manual trans sections will quickly expose the strengths and weaknesses of both trans types, and everything beyond that is just preference. Neither is perfect, so just pick the one you personally prefer.
Also, for any bench racing questions (like the GTO vs WS6), please use the dyno and bench racing section:
