Default QA1 shocks are rubbing, why? (pics)

My shocks are rubbing. It is rubbing so bad that the adjustable **** doesn't even work any more. What would make it do this? Is the car not straight? or is something on the chassis not adjusted right? I did not install the shocks.

Rear Passenger side

As you can see not much space between the shock and the rear sway bar

Drive Side. as you can see more space between the shock and the sway bar.

Another rear driver side

Easy solution is to unbolt the bottom of the shock, turn the shock body 180 degrees, then reinstall. Pretty simple.

Do you have an adjustable panhard bar? Your rear end could be off center.

no i dont have an adjustable panhard bar, its BMR but not adjustable. I'm assuming this could have all happen when the 12 bolt was installed. Maybe the 12 bolt wan't installed at center?

I'd be asking for a new shock from so called sponsor. Take a string and tie a nut to it. Drop it down the side of the quarter panel till it is just off the ground and measure at the center of the wheel.Should be even on both sides. Line the string to center of wheel on both sides.

Just because someone is a sponsor doesn't mean you can't tell us. Heck if they were that lousy I would want to know who did it so I would know who not to use.

Yep the old string and weight trick to centering the rear. I also drop them down the quarter panel.

If you have any dealings with said sponsor. Attempt to complete those dealings and then share your feedback. If you share it here it'll probably get moved to the sponsor feedback forum. I too would ask for a new shock.

I will try the string and weight trick this weekend. the 12 bolt was put in almost 3 years ago. So its prolly a little late to go back and complain now. The car has been mostly sitting for the last couple of years. I am trying to get out and play with it more this year.

Push the swaybar over, it slides in its mounts.
