Default Tire recommended for a weekend car

Planning on getting some 315/35/17 tires and they would be going on a 327rwhp car for now, planning on getting heads/cam soon so hopefully 450rwhp. I only drive the car on some weekends and it will be seeing the dragstrip more often now, it will see the street more than the strip though. was thinking the nitto NT05 or toyo proxes tq or r888, not sure about the NT05r though, dont seem like alot of tread.

I really like the Toko TQ its designed for launching at the dragstrip. The hook and launch very well.

I'm actually in the same boat as FormulaTA327! I have been going back and forth between tires & sizes. 315 in the rear and 275 up front. I'm really looking into Nitto NT 555's.

what you guys think about running front tire 265/40/17 with the rear 315/35/17. only thing i can see being a issue is that i cant find many tires in the 265/40/17 size. i know i can go 275/40 but i dont like the way that wide of a front tire likes to pull if theres any imperfection in the road, could also get a 255/40 but im not sure if it will look good on the 17x9.5 wheel

I was looking at some of the Proxes this weekend at the local tire chain store and they look like they'd have a good bite to them. Although they didn't have the best warranty (with the softer rubber compound) out of the other tires, eagles, and BFGs, they seem like for a weekend driver and occasional racer, you'd burn through them by about the same time they'd start to dry rot anyway!
