ive heard of .045 but id rather be on safe side and go maximum of .030. when i say safe side, i am referring to not only intake sealing issues but ptv issues. you can always go .030 and try some cometics .040 head gaskets.
most important to remember is once you take off you cant add back to heads. sure you could run thicker than stock gaskets but i wouldnt.

what block, flat or dish piston, what heads, what compression you trying to accomplish? the answers to the above questions would help provide more accurate and definitive answers. here to help. feel free to pm....
