Default 11.0 compression to much for ProCharger?

Been doing a lot of searching and considering a procharger for my next mod. But not sure how or what the motor will handle as is.
Current h/c motor specifics:
Cnc'ed 5.3l heads 11.0-1 comp
TR 224 114lsa
Ported ls6 and ported tb
Stock bottom end
19,000 miles

I would like 550rwp, but that may be a stretch with that kind of compression. What options do I have? Thanks as always Techy's

You'll need a different cam first of all. Do you have E85 accessible? If so I would run it with a good tune and keep the boost low.

It'll work I had a motor with a compression ratio like that . just keep the timing low and you'll make plenty of power. Make sure you use a good meth kit too it'll keep the detonation away .good luck

Thanks guys. Meth kit seams to be something I will need to research more here to understand how it works.

No E85 near by. Only 93 pump.

Spray meth and you will make that 550 at around 6-7psi. That was my result with 11.3:1 CR and a cam similar to yours.

You and me are in the same boat. 228 cam, tea heads, and im thinking 7lbs of boost with a great meth kit. It will work just do it. I will be when im ready.

Guys, can you explain how the meth kit works? I'm assuming it sprays under a certain psi? Where do you buy this stuff? This is one area I don't have a clue on. But then again, this site has always pointed me in the right direction as long as you ask the right questions.

Definitely run meth and keep the boost somewhat low and you should be fine, but weirder things have happened.

The more methanol you can spray the better. Look at the videos Snow performance, will give you a good idea on how they work, pretty simple really. I love the stg2 kit they sell for street cars on 93 pump gas. I have used that kit with great results on 4 of my own and many friends' cars. Def worth the $420 ish price tag. I will never have another turbo street car without spraying meth.

Don't think meth is needed...in most applications but, to each they're own. I see no problem what so ever running this setup, with no meth, and I would imagine, with ported heads/cam, you should be making more then 600 wheel?... 8.5 psi on a similar compression, more na cam, and I made 680 on 93oct. Never had any issues at all...and I am in the south florida heat, and at that time, the car was a daily.

Find your self a good tuner dude. The compression ratio will be fine. Run low timing,...it'll live a long time if your(and tuner) smart about it.

This is actually what I'm looking for. I really don't want to deal with the meth if I don't have to, reason I'm looking for mid 500 at the wheels. This is only a weekend ride with a trip to the strip once in awhile. But I want more power. 431 is just not enough.
Thanks for the info.

As long as you get a good reputable tuner who knows what they are doing, you should be fine with no meth. Just consider it a safety blanket, but isnt a necessity.

Please don't feed this guy wrong info on him needing to change his cam. For his goals it is perfectly fine.
