Default Finally starting!! 85 regal 6.0l 4l80e turbo swap

Hey guys,
After getting this car 3 years ago. Im finally starting the build. Its an 85 regal, 10pt cage, mini tubbed, fiberglass rear bumper and a 9 inch. Its getting a 6.0l/4l80e intercooled on E85. Going to make it a GN. Looking at the 7875 from Huron Speed.Going to run the Holley Dominator EFI. Hoping for a 9 sec pass out of it with the boost turned up. With the help of everyone on this site for the last few years, its finally begun. A few quick pics.

In the little garage. Its freezing out. Have to work around things. lol Someone cut the 8 inch cowl off the glasstech hood. No idea why. Its going to get a stock gn hood at some point.

Fiberglass decklid. Getting a steel one as well. This is for sale if anyone is looking for one.

My "Summit racing" crossmember They didnt even try to hide that. lmao

Got intercooler from member Jcuadra from here.

Put the fuel cell in.

If anyone gets the chance to buy the JEGS push/pull battery kit. Pass on that. The threads on the rod were different than one of the bolts.

I cant decide if Im going to cut a hole in the floor, or prop up the cell. Im leaning towards proping itup. Then I dont have to build a skid plate. How is everyone else running them?

What type of fittings are you guys using on your fuel pumps and regulators? It says -10 AN o-ring inlet/outlet for the pump, -8 for the other. Is it just a standard AN flare fitting JEGS 555-110205 or do you have to run The radiused pump fittings?. JEGS 555-100167

i buy a regular fitting because its 1/4 the price of the oring fitting, cut off some thread so it doesnt restrict flow, and put an oring on it.

why do you have to cut the threads? Are o-ring fittings shorter?

should sell that intercooler on turbobuick.com.

thats a pretty pricey intercooler, can go with an ebay cheapy and have cash left overafter selling the percision front mount

also did you mean the 7868 Benita from Huron Speed,,,didnt see the 7875 listed..

Haha tta656,
Actually... I just bought it off of turbobuick.com. lmao! Thats why its still in the box. Was going to go with an ebay cheapy but I got this one for 400 shipped, with all hardware. I know it will fit and according to their site. Will be plenty big for me. It went for 800 new. Plus any that are as big, are around that same new price. The fab time and, I feel, a better quality unit, is worth the extra cost. I think I got a good deal and happy with it.

No thanks on the pan. Unless you want to come up and put my shift kit in it, then deal. lol

Got the fuel cell, battery cut off switch, and battery hold down all mounted up tonight. Now I have to figure out how to fit 2 260 gph filters and that massive holley pump.

I didn't know that Chevy. I seen the fittings Denmah runs. I am going to try and talk to a hydraulic hose company in town. I need a few -12 to -10 double o-ring straight couplers. Or if anyone knows where to find them? I found -10 to -10 but its the reducer that seems to make it harder.

Turbonetics NEW 7675 and 7875 Turbos AVAILABLE through Huron Speed!

Which by the way, if anyone is interested in getting together and doing a group buy. PM me.

HAha! I do love me the gbody's. My dad has an 87 Monte ss with a forged 350 brodex heads, roller cam. I did have a 60000 mile garage kept 80 cutlass. I put an afr headed 406, solid roller cam, forged bottom end, caged. Got to drive it 4 times and my ex friend shows up with a meth addiction and my car is stolen and never recovered. You do the math. lol

Thats a great question! I have no idea. lol Im thinking like a 3.07 or maybe 3.23. Depending on what I have to do to be able to run them. Its got a 5.xx gear in it now. Its a 9 inch. Ive been around 12 bolts. Idk if i would have to change out the carrier or how the 9 inch works. I want best gear for e.t. Being turbo, its going to be high by N/A standards anyway.

Do you have any pics on yours? Im assuming its got an ls in it? I love the 78-80 malibus. I was looking for that or a regal, when I found this. There are 2 malibu wagons in town that sit next to a guys house. One is light brown. Make a great sleeper.

Mines nothing to look at. lol do you just "like" that page or can you add as a friend? What did you have to do to the 8.8 to get it to work? I decided to go fi instead of carb, once I decided to go turbo. It would be cheaper to go carb. Ill have 2500 in my holley unit with all the wiring. But the cost kinda equals out when it takes the place of alot of things. Plus controlling the 4l80e. Im just fascinated by being able to tune the car and not be pulling jets, reading plugs, and guessing. lol

My new proportioning valve should be here tomorrow. then i cant put my new SS brake lines and aluminum prop valve.
Once I get the shift kit in the tranny. Im ready to put the motor and trans in it.

I am building a cutlass currently. Also dropped in an 8.8. Was an easy bolt in. I picked up some "Iceman" adjustable uppers. The Baseline stuff is beautiful but a little pricey. If I have issues with my instant center I will pickup the baseline stuff but I think it will be fine.

Funny you mentioned the rears. That reminded me, I forgot I had a trz complete with double adjustable and single adjustable uppers and lowers fot it in the closet.

What motor in the cutty? I looked at the iceman crossmembers. Looks like a nice unit. To many people found them to flex, for my liking. That g-force is 30 lbs! No flex there. lol Hopefully it goes on good.

Hey bu. Which car in the pics is yours? Know anyone in Iowa? lol The circle track guys grab them. I need some body parts.
