Default DTC help

I am showing the following codes, I am tuning with HPT, my car is a 2002 TA, cammed LS1 with LT's and ported TB

(Brake) U1000
(Restraints) U1000
(Restraints) U1000
(HUD) U1000
(PCM) P1637

I also get the annoying o2 slow switching now and then

Thanks

P1637 means your alternator isn't charging. What's your actual question?

Sorry...no question...I am wondering where is the communication problem and is this a common problem for the 3rd gens to tell me where to look? Yes, that is the code is the generator (I assume it means the alternator) but the alternator does charge the battery, and according to the trusty volt meter the battery is around 13 volts and with engine running it's about 16 and it doesn't drop off with all accessories on, plug is good and secure, no corrosion...in fact, all the connections under the hood I have checked, the ECM, and every plug all feel good, look good, like new, no corrosion, etc. grounds are all tight, no rust anywhere, this is a garage kept car, everything still looks new so I am wondering where to check?

The code is because you are running at 16 volts. The car wants to be at 13.4-14~ NOT 16.

Sounds like the voltage regulator in the alt is going bad and needs to be replaced asap.

The other u codes are normal and will go away.

Slow switching codes you say you randomly get are from old o2 sensors usually.

Actually that was the reading from my volt meter, thought it was off a point or so as the battery read like 13...anyway took it and had it scaned and the charging system was good (according to the machine) and was reading like 14.2-14.4 and under load someting like 13.2...is the 14.3 (avg) tripping the code?

If your getting the 1637 code would that cause the tps voltage to be high also?

I don't get the question! and don't know a lot about the electrical/code side of this...I have had the battery and charging system checked again (by a electrical system so called expert clinic) they use different machines and told me that the voltage is good, a little high and said that could be the VR or the ALT or thats just how this unit works and maybe that was throwing off the PCM and making the pcm throw the electric codes and the O2 codes I know could be due to the LT collectors, the sensors are less than 6 months old and on the scanner look like they move around fine, in fact better than others I have seen....so just don't know where top go from here, was your question aimed to point me somewhere?
