Hotcam vs 224/228 581 112- anyone?
I had the hc in my last 99 with gears, catback, lid, shifter, tuner. My latest 99 has the 224/228, same bolt ons, ls1 edit, and ASP pulley. It runs consistently 2mph faster but a traction limited .06 faster et. I noticed a guy dyno'd with jethots and lsx with a hotcam 387rwhp which sounds to be as much as I've seen with the 224/228 with all bolt ons. I'm getting ready to install jethots with hooker y next weekend. Really beginning to wonder if I should go back with the hotcam. This thing clacks the valve train like no other (xer). I've noticed the latest trend is to have monster duration and reasonable lift ie <560. Anyone with ideas let me know.

PUt the headers on and maybe you won't hear the valvetrain clicking?
I have the 224/224 .561 114lsa cam with crane dual spring kit and with headers I don't know why..but I don't hear any clicking?
Could it be the springs you chose rather than the cam?
Just guessing..

Do you have roller rockers on your car? I have heard that they can lessen the noise somewhat.
BTW, Your car wouldn't happen to be a red Z28 with ZR1's and the front grille removed
would it?

Thanks guys. I'm not necessarily freaking over the noise, but it is kind of gross. I have scoggin dickey springs and ti retainers, so I'm sure that a part of it. Stock rockers.
Mine is a pewter 99Z with REDLINEZ on the plate. Stock 16's lowered. Pm me and we can meet up some time.
