Default Hotchkis Springs with Koni shocks

Are Hotchkis Springs with Koni shocks a good combination?

I have them on my 93 with a Koni 4/3 set up. 10 years ago they seemed to be what every one ran, might be better stuff now. I also have a Hotchkis sway bar set on the car, between the two I have always been happy with Hotchkis quality.

Thanks, I'm glad to see someone is happy with them.

Was the drop actually 1inch? I have LT's and I don't want to drop my Trans Am much lower than that.

I'm not sure what the exact drop was; I'd guess a little more than an inch. I have LT's and a 3.5" exhaust and ground clearance is fine.

You can see I have pretty good clearence...

0.2 inches isn't that much of a difference. If you want to drop the car about an inch, you will want the springrates to support the drop. I'd go with the strano springs. BMR's have the same rates and drops by a narrow margin, but the Stranos are a lighter spring since they are made with Vogtlands chromium vanadium steel compared to chromium silicon steel that most springs are made with.

Thanks for adding the pictures helped a lot seeing the ground clearance. Your car looks sweet and there's good clearance.

I think the front sits a little nose high, I have the springs on the top perch, I bet if I had the springs on the lower perch that would clean it up. I don't mind where it's at now because it looks better than 4x4 mode and I still have ground clearance for my friends the expensive Kooks Headers and Custom Y pipe.

10 decades ago they seemed to be what every one ran, might be better things now. I also have a Hotchkis move bar set on the car, between the two I have always been satisfied with Hotchkis excellent.. . . .
