Default "power bulge" formula hood!

I read somewhere that it was blocked off for the 87+ cars because it was pretty much useless for fuel injected cars, but would it at least work to vent heat or something?

the same place said that the 87+ cars the bulge was covered with a plate, and that's it. which is cool cuz its only held in by 2 bolts

The scoop block off plate is held on with 4, 9/32s or 4, 7mm bolts. The only drawback is under certain rainy days the heat can come out and fog up the hood a bit.

that would be interesting. i have an 83 T/A with the power buldge hood and it's functional. has the solenoid and breather rubber gasket. would be interesting if you could somehow route an air intake up there on a fuel injected car.

It can be done but it has some restrictions in doing it.
Just a FYI for those that dont know, in 82-84 there was a carb and a Crossfire Ram Air option on the T/As.

actually the carb ram air was only 83-84. the 83 carb cars had either a flat firebird hood (very early 82s) or the turbo style hood but a non functional air cleaner. the functional air cleaner debuted in 83

I knew there was a lil twist on the early 82-3 years but there are 2 RA setups used, carb and ceasefire. I have the hood parts for both systems.
