i found a 6 disk radio from a 2006 suburban and wanted to know if i would have to redo some of the pins or is it just a str8 swap. the plugs look the same from the back. thanks for your help

Can't be done. The '06 head unit has been programmed to the vehicle it was originally installed in and cannot be reprogrammed. So, even if the connections are the same (I believe they are), the '06 HU won't work in another vehicle. It was a theft prevention "feature" that GM incorporated in late model double DIN head units.
