Looking at ported 243's but what cam works good with them?? It's my dd , but I can get them cheap so worth going with IMO but wondering thoughts and tried opinions from guys have same/similar setup....

Hot cam

Can get hot cam real cheap as well but don t want it if it won't be good with 243's b/c that's what I'm leaning on getting b/c of the price

What are you wanting from a cam? Stock idle? Stock gears? Need more info. IMO I wouldn't go thru a swap to put in a hot cam. You can get so much more from a cam.

Go with a 228r from tsp. Drivability is there, not very hard on the valvetrain, and the #s are promising with ported 243s . I'm sure someones done this before. Search on tech and you'll find somthing. It also sounds really good

you will need a better rear end soon.don't dump money into a stock 10 bolt.consider a 9" rear from Quick Performance .look a TSP 228r or torquer v3 cam.

Ms3 is a great cam,but max effort cams are not a budget way of going fast,on stock m6 gears i can tell you my ms4 car was a complete dog,imo get in touch with eps,i would look into a 22?/23ish cam,ya want something that has a good power band on the street, good low n mid range thats what makes a street car fun imo,a hot cam isnt a bad idea, but i think its worth it to spend a lil more to get something alot better,if your paying someone to swap cams dont cheap out on the cam in the end you will not be saving alot of money and you will be looking for more,i would get the 243s worked and the cam to match, big cams are great but i can tell ya im not that big of a fan of them, and i have ran one for awhile, for the drag strip there great but overal street car just not that great with out doing alot more mods to support it,trust me ya can get a big cam sound outta a much smaller profile and something that will actually run good with the setup ya have now,and you can make the stock 10 bolt last ya just have to be easy on it,launching from a dig on a m6 your just asking for it,

I've ran the Torquer V3 from TSP for 2 years now, and I've been very happy with it. It had great street manners with my stalled A4 setup and with my new M6 setup. I'm running it with 3.73 gears and a Monster Stage 2 clutch. I will probably go with 4.10s when the rear blows up. Mine is on a 111LSA, so its got a pretty mean idle.

I would go with a 228r from what you describe. It is a great all around cam and with heads makes great power for what it is! It sounds awesome on 112lsa. I have a torquer v2 112lsa in my GTO and it's great! I have driven my buddy's 02 trans am with dart heads and a v3 and it was equally awesome, altho a little bit more on the rough side for idle, but deff makes good power. He made 440 whp and 395wtq with that cam and heads combo Deff, a fun car!

A 228r cam and call it a day. Its a great specd cam with a great sound to it and delivers a great amount of power.

I would consider Martin at Tick.
Or
The guys at TSP.

Really great cams from these guys.

IMO take a look at the Tick Performance "SNS" torqueMAX Stage 2 (the milder version, 226/234 | .59x"/.60x" | LSA110+3).

I am going to go with the majority and say 228r or something very similar. Great all around cam and still retains a great low end.
