Default Grinding noise when shifting!! Help!! t56

Today i just finished rebuilding my t56 and put it back in. When i was driving it around the neighbor hood it was grinding when up shifting and down shifting when shifted into 3 and 4. Sometimes it wouldn't grind. Could this be the 3-4 syncro? or something clutch related? I did just bleed the clutch and i guess it coulda not fully been bled.

If its gear related is more likely the Trans. If the clutch was bad, you'd have trouble in all gears.

Thumbs down

I took it apart and realized I missed a roller pin, thought that that was the problem. I put it back in the car, but it wasn't the problem. Im taking it down again tomorrow...

go through all your syncros/sliders and check the blocker rings, those caused a problem for me wit intermittent grinding when downshifting

Did your rebuild include swapping the aluminum 3-4 fork for an iron aftermarket one? This could be the prob.

Wait, I'm confused...you just rebuilt the trans and the blockers were "extremely worn" afterwards?....what did your rebuild entail? This is a natural measure/change/ swap item on any rebuild I recall.

^^This... Did this guy tear down the tranny and not replace the blocker rings to begin with? Thats standard procedure during a rebuild

Ya I rebuilt it my self and it was the first rebuild I ever felt with. There were a ton of more problems then that the 5th gear had no teeth along with the 5/6. I initially replaced the 5/6 syncro and rev along with shift forks with bronze pads. I bought the car broke so I wasn't able to drive it before. Once back together I realized what else was wrong in the second time taking it a part I replaced 3rd speed gear 1/2 3/4 syncros. New blocker rings for 1/2 3/4 and billets keys for 3/4. Now it runs good but at high rpms the shifter shakes hard. Do you guys have any idea if that has to do with the rebuild? Sorry to change the subject but I've posted and looked everywhere with no answer...
