Default 1994 Firebird Trans Am T Top lock "duck bill claw FLUBERCUB" :/

I have Autism so forgive me if I post in the wrong place and ramble a lot I don't know better and to try and change my ways just stresses me out so here goes please help.

1994 Firebird Trans Am V8 trying to convert over to 25th Anniversary package (everything but blue pin stripe yeck) all white and black.

ANYWAY. When I bought the car 3 months ago the WHOLE LOCK on the DS was GONE (cylinder housing and 'duck bill claw' thing and all) just a big hole. To TOP it off (get it? HAHAH) anyway seriously to TOP it off the PS has the lock in place and its locked and NONE OF THE KEYS FIT IT.

Long story short I had to pay a locksmith 20 bucks to drill it out and I threw away the whole lock thinking I could buy a replacement online, which is TRUE....... kinda

As you can see Firebird Parts | T-Top | Classic Industries 1982-1992 come WITH the 'duck bill claw thing' (see the silver bit at the bottom) but the 1993-1994 (GEN 4 WONDER YEARS) DO NOT?!?!?!

I even called and emailed them and they checked the box and sure enough no 'duck bill claw thing' in that box

I searched for weeks and can not find those bills anywhere, and to top it all of my usual pack rat mentality went haywire that day and I threw the only one I had in the TRASH

Help.

Kel

Uhhhh Im not sure what the hell a duck billed thing is. But you should be able to buy new lock cylinders from places such as rock auto (dot) com or any other large parts supplier. Have you tryed giving the dealer a shot?

SORRY I assumed this forum would send me an email when people responded, I also assumed the link I copy and pasted would appear. This should clear this up:

http://www.classicindustries.com/sea...T%20top%20lock

^^ NOTE: 82-92 CAMARO/FIREBIRD T-TOP LOCKS have the SILVER DUCK BILL TAB there and the 93-94 CAMARO/FIREBIRD T-TOP LOCKS it's just not there!

Just go to napa and pick up a lock retainer assortment pack. Gm has been using them for years. Couple bucks. That's where I get mine when we need them at my shop. I think autozone carries them as well in the section over by the paint area. Ask the guys at the counter for gm lock retainer clips.

It's not a retainer clip I have 3 of those and I see where I can buy the other one online, the only thing I can't find is the duck bill locking mechanism shown here for 3rd gen locks for some reason they don't come with my 2 year bastard generation :/

Check out the last picture on this writeup It shows the silver tab thing at the bottom of the cylinder, that silver tab thing ( no one knows what it is called or where to get one ) is what I need but it looks more like the link above to the 3rd gen. I have a feeling that guys was a newer model and my bastard years had the hybrid tab.

Just across the border from Mexico in the middle of the desert. I checked the junk yard and the only one I found there with T top spots was gutted.

I am OCD and MUST have everything perfect or it drives me nuts. Epoxy, sandpaper and ingenuity has been my friend thus far but I don't know how to work with metal much less reproduce the Pawl tab.

Also keep in mind that 1993-1994 T tops are different than all the rest so it narrows it down a LOT

I am still searching thanks.
