Default Converter ??

I have an FTI converter and it works flawlessly.

I am having a dilemma about what will be best. My car is 60'ing better than it ever has and the best ETs also. The car is a full weight, stock bottom end, H/C and spray LS1 and has a 1.34 60' time. My problem is I have lost a few MPH (about 3) and I am wondering if I tighten the converter up just a hair I may gain some MPH back. I know it will soften up the hit just a bit so I am torn if it will help or hurt it. I know I am losing a little because I am getting there quicker but if I can get a little MPH back maybe I can get there quicker AND faster!!

I know the only true way to find out is to just do it but I want to know what your thoughts are.

What size stall? Sounds like your car might be blowing through it. I might be having the same problem with my Yank ss4000.

It's right around 4000 with a 4L60E.

Spraying over 150? If you get it tightened (most likely they'll restall smaller), you'll probably lose N/A.. It's a trade off, especially with a 4l60e tranny. Same dilemma for me also. Cars with TH350, TH400, etc can get away with a big, tight stall for n20 since the tranny is a totally different animal.

Are you going out the other end in 4th,? if you are could be your 3/4 gear clutches started to slip, you can verified this by taking off your trans oil pan and checking out the bottom of the pan inside, if you ran your finger across and is die with a dark film your last gear change clutches are giving up/slipping.
If you ran your finger across and is just slightly stained and there's not much of a dark film on the bottom of your pan you are OK.
If you go out the back in 3rd gear this may not apply.
