Default Revving up for some reason?

Hey folks dont know if its my clutch just getting worse or what but my car (2001 ss camaro) has been reeving up intot the 2000's and staying there until i push clutch in and shift then goes way back up. has gotten worse. used to rev pretty high then when i would come to a complete stop it would come back down to normal in a second. The thing was practically driving itself when i was going 35 thru town. weird. anybody have a similiar issue. Could this be connected with a clutch going.

Yep. Sticking throttle, tps, map, maf, O2's could be pretty much anything.

id take a look into the idle air control valve could be your culprit but sounds like a vacumm leak .. do a leak down test that will eliminate leaks ..but like everyone else said it could be a # of things

Well that does not sound fun at all. So now i have more issues than i thought i already had with replacing the clutch and rebuilding the tranny. My buddy tunes LS cars and he did mine after we replaced the heads and camshaft. Can you see if the car is having a vacuum problem with the hp tuner software on his laptop. Wasnt throwing any lights or anything, hmmm
