Default Exhaust help

so...ive got a 98 z28, whoever had the car before me changed the muffler so now its only a single pipe and i hate it...has good sound though, but i have got to go back to duals...im only changing the muffler for now,no headers or anything what would be the best muffler for a good THROATY sound?

Any bullet style...dynomax...flowmaster super 10(s) sound good.

I've got a single Dynomax muffle on my ORY Y pipe with no cats. ^^^ I agree with above, flowmaster and dynomax are good sound for your money.

Corsa cat-back, they come with nice tips too.
Had mine on the car for 7 years, still look new. Muffler is still in good condition, no rust, but then it is stainless. Dont know what the alteratives are like i can only speak of the Corsa. It does sounds nice though IMO.

What do you define as "throaty"? Your definition may vary, but IMO it's hard to get that sound with cats still in place, and the only way to get close if you still have cats is with some sort of chambered muffler or no muffler at all.

But sound is very subjective, so your best bet is to listen to a bunch of sound files and find what you like.
