Default serious clutch chatter monster stage 2 10k miles

Does anyone else have this issue? Installed it last spring put 10k on the car all was good until recently. It sounds like a bag of broken seashells if that makes sense. Its just a bolt-on daily driver car so its well in its power range. Not knocking on monster but why is this happening?

I should also add it does seem to quiet down after some driving, just a worrying sound.

Only does it when it's cold? did it chatter when you first installed it?

Kinda odd, because chatter usually just doesn't happen out of the blue. I assume the sound goes away when you push the clutch pedal down? Only clutch that had some chatter was my monster stage 3, partially my fault for not being patient on break in, and it had some squeal on it if you didnt knock off the glaze at the track.

The stage 2 should be quiet.

couldn't be a broken bolt could it?......maybe one of the 10mm's that hold the slave cyl on....did you use threadlocker on all of them?.....(flywheel, pressure plate, etc)

i wouldn't think the disc material would fail after so few miles

You think that issue would have surfaced WAY before he put 10k miles on the setup.

loctited all the bolts broke the clutch in properly. havent had the issue until recently. it only chatters during clutch engagement in first gear. so leaving from a stop is the only time a really hear it.

I also replaced the slave when i did the install. Could it be the slave chattering?

not necessarily, if it wasn't torqued correctly or backed out slowly over time......i'm in no way an expert, just a shot in the dark guess.

could something have broken inside the trans itself and cause the input shaft to wobble?....maybe pilot bearing failure?

OP, if a quick beating doesn't clear it up, you'll probably have to drop the trans and fill this thread with plenty of pics...i'd like to know what it is.

you sure that chatter isnt glaze on the clutch? because if something was loose, beating the hell out of it would definitely NOT help that issue.

i doubt anything is loose. I torqued everything to spec and red loctited everything. If something were loose of backing out i think it would chatter more than just during clutch engagement. Right now I am pointing my finger at the slave. I have a tick adjustable master that has a little dead space in the top of the pedal. As the it warms up the dead space goes away. If thats not the case Im going to pull the trans and take a look at the clutch itself. I will also bleed my clutch tomorrow and see if I can finally get the last of this dead space out and see if it helps. The dead space has been an ongoing problem for some time and the clutch hasnt chattered before so I never thought twice about it.

Bleeding it is a good start. Let us know what the results are, and if you are unsure, read the thread at the top regarding bleeding if you havent already.

Bleed ONLY the spongy part though. No need to press the pedal all the way down.

Again, JUST the sponge portion of the pedal.

Clutch is continuing to chatter. Not getting worse. Im going to pull the Trans and check it out just don't know when since the weather around here is so on and off. This its my daily so its going to have to work around my schedule.

When you replaced the pilot bearing, was the input shaft still good?

those tick perfermance MC are powerful units...where is clutch pedal relative to the brake pedal?...since everything was fine up until 10K i'm wondering if there's is too much hydraulic pressure being applied...
