Well finally about to start my build. Found a 5.3/4l60e I've been lurking for awhile trying to gather all the info I can. Still needing info on what to do with trans cooler lines. I'm going to try and tackle the wiring harness myself I'm new to the ls motors so I will probably b asking a lot of questions

You will definitely love that vortec compared to that old 350! Ill be watching your thread! This swap is a fairly straight forward swap. The radiator from the newer trucks could very well be a straight swap. If not you can always just use an aftermarket trans cooler!

If you had a 350 turbo before, what did you use for a cooler for it? The cooler in the original radiator will work unless you're going to be putting a stall in it or pulling a trailer alot.

The connections on the trans look like a slip fit connection and I wasn't sure if I could use the same lines I have now or ill need new connections and lines. It's going to be a stock swap for now no kind of stall. I was wanting to use the stock radiator

You can take the quick connect fittings out of the transmission and replace them with the flare fittings out of your old transmission.

Ordered some parts for the swap. 87 tank and sending unit, fuel lines and corvette filter regulator, lt schoenfeld headers, tac module. Hope all my parts come in by the time i get back in town. still needing the PCM and starter and alternator. Probably going to check the jy here in Lubbock before I go back

Ls1nova I read through your build its looking good I wish there was a jy close enough so I could go the budget route. I like the oil pressure idea might have to try it. Is the oil pressure not needed for the computer to work properly?? The orange and blue trucks are bad a$$ you do awesome work

You can either rework your harness (pictured) or purchase a standalone. Do you have the DBW components (Throttle body, TAC Module, TAC Harness, Pedal)? That may weigh into your decision due to cost.

Well I actually just ordered the tac module from your company. I have the throttle body and pedal.

Yes I do have the tac harness off the pedal. All was needed was the tac module. Well I'm going to attempted it. Found lots of info just not sure about the splicing and soldering of the wires. If it doesn't turn out right I will probably order new. Just wanting to do it myself

Thanks for the compliments. I guess I take for granted how many U pull it type junkyards we have near here, lucky I suppose. Also as mentioned by someone else, the oil pressure isn't needed by the PCM for the engine to run, at least not in the older engines. Good luck with your project, the first one is always the hardest, but also the most rewarding!
