Worth changing cams for turbo setup?

Default Worth changing cams for turbo setup?

Ok so my car is a '93 LT1 with mild heads/cam build. I'm currently working on a turbocharged 377-380 stroker build and we've come to the point of picking a cam. Currently I've got Lloyd Elliott's 226/232 .578/.574 110 LSA cam. I called him up and he recommended a 223/223 .565/.565 114 LSA cam for my current build. My question is, since I'm far from good with understanding cams, is there enough difference in cam specs here to warrant the change. Would you change in this situation? Just to give a little more background on the build/car it will have a bw s400 on it and be a weekend toy. Anything from the strip, occasional track day, to some back road fun once in a while. Thanks in advance for any help!

My choice wouild be the 114 lobe separation . The 110 will work but you wont get all you can get outta your setup.I've always used 114 on my turbo cams. The 110 cam is more of a all motor cam in my eyes.

we get 3-4 "what cam" threads per week, so take it with a grain of salt that people aren't jumping at the bits to help out. There are many threads about cam's on here already that are available as well.

Depending on the entire combo, the 114 lsa is usually a better cam, but turbine size, and other built combos come into play here too. 110 lsa can bleed boost out the exhaust, while a 114 keeps the pressure between valve events. While some use a tighter LSA in turbo setups, they may do that due to turbo sizing, or other requirements stated by owner ( exhaust sound, etc)

There are many on here that can also spec out a cam for you if you have not gotten one yet. I would start with, liljohn, martin at tick, brian tooley, Pat G, Geoff at EPS etc.

It may be a bit vague but hope this comes across as informative.

Wide lsa cams are always the typical cam used on forced induced setups because that lope you hear is actually air and fuel escaping out the exhaust due to the intake valve and exhaust valve being open at the same time. With a turbo it intensifies. The bleed off is more so that's why everyone chooses cams with a 114 lsa. However a while back I remember reading a article where a big name blower company decided to take a "lopey" cam and put it in a blower motor and it actually made more power. Can't rember who though.
