Default Tap Shift Technology on 1997 LS1

I am looking for some help on determining if I can install a new Tap Shift transmission onto a 1997 LS1?

We are trying to build a World Challenge car for a person with a disability to drive and want to utilize the modern shifting technology. Is this even possible?

i guess you mean paddle shifters on the steering wheel? dunno if you have a specific transmission, steering wheel, or shifters in mind, but check out the TCI 6x tranny. they basically convert GM's 4L80e to a 6 speed, and with that is the possibility to add TCI's puddle shifters. supposedly handles 850 hp
