Default Optispark wobbles

I just Changed my optispark to a msd unit and when i start the car up i see that it wobbles a bit, is that normal or did i forget to tighten a bolt?

Before i remove the waterpump again to check for loose bolts it would be nice if someone could check to see if there opti moves around a bit whith the engine running or if it stays still

Well considering there is bolts around the outside of the opti I would make an assumption that it does not move.

Let's hope you didn't do any damage to the bearing in the opti housing.

If the rest of the engine is wobbling the same amount, in the same direction/s, you're probably ok.

Default Get the drive pin in the correct slot of the MSD.

That gets funnier the later it gets. Seems he can't google for himself.

Read on forums that happens quite a bit - the cam drive pin gets stuffed over the wrong dist slot and clamped down with the dist bolts. That MSD/Opti needs to sit flush on the timing cover. Don't force it down with the mounting bolts. The stupid thing does have 3 grooves in it but u have to get that drive pin in the "indexed" groove on the back of the Opti - its larger and the drive pin will fit in it - not the other 2 grooves.

Good luck and hope it helps,
cardo
