Looking for feedback from people who have driven their LS and THEN stroked it
Im in the process of starting an LS3 build and Id like to hear from people who have driven this (or any other 3.622 stroke) engine and then later stroked it.
I am fully aware of the benefits of a 416 build, etc., I am more interested in how the engine FEELS before and after. Does the short stroke like to be revved higher? Is there a big difference when the power comes on?
Mine is for a roadrace application, so Im not looking for gobbs of torque down low, id like a nice midrange and free spinning engine.
Thanks in advance
PS I havent bought the block yet, so I might even go with an LS2 or LS6 if it makes sense

had an ls2 and turned it into a 404. major difference in torque and low end power. depeneding on piston choice for a large camshaft it revved pretty high about 7500rpm but i also had pretty good callies internals.

I went from an Ls1 to stroker Ls3, major power down low iirc 500ft lbs by 3-3500? Thru a spooled 4.11 geared 9"!
I peak at 6500 but that's because I should of gone with a bigger cam! Oh well you live and learn.
Where it peaks will depend on the heads and cam combo you choose so make sure you get one specs by Ed Curtis, Brian Tooley or EPS. Top notch right there.

Too funny, I considered stroking my L76, decided against it due to the car with me in it weighing a mer 2900 lbs. Didn't need the extra torque! A 402/408 is wise especially if the car is a pig (heavy)and needs the extra shove to get moving.
