Default gauge mounting

im wanting to move my pillar gauges into the vents of my 98 TA. do i need some kind of brackets, or do you guys just shove them in there?

2 5/8" gauges fit in vent holes. 2 1/16" gauges need adaptors like scj posted.

or this what i did. A Lot cheaper
