Default 9 inch leaking....

Just got my new 9 inch under the car and the hogs head has sealed where the gasket meets it and the housing. However, I have a slow leak at the bottom stud of the hogs head. It is coming through the hogs head hole and dripping out? Anyone else have this problem? What is a permanent fix?

Do you mean it is dripping from one of the studs that secure the center section to the housing? Bob

Permatex ultra black in the squeeze cheese can, gasket goes in the trash. Better it leak from there than the damn axle seals.

"Hogs head" is new to me but I like it way better than center section or chunk. Seriously, its perfect. Exactly what it looks like.

you have to seal the center section and all the bolts that hold it in, I ran a bead of black rtv around all the studs, you really cant over do it on the rtv in my opinion.

and I agree, the gasket goes directly in the garbage!

hogs head? lmao thats hilarous, ditch the paper gasket and just use rtv on the inside of all the studs all the way around

Yes it is the bottom stud coming through the housing that secures the hogs head down. I used rtv but apparently not enough.

Mine has a small leak at the bottom stud of the center section as well. Noticed it before we painted it. Cleaned it up and painted it. 2 weeks later small drips again coming from the same area. Is this common ? The thing is brand new. Is there something my mechanic should have done during the install?
