2010 Bone Stock Z06 VS BMW M6 Boltons & Tunned
#2
Cool races.
Looks like the M6 would take the hit and fall back, the Z06 would for some reason straddle the lane divider, the M6 would draft, the Z06 would shift to 5th ~155/160mph (and die), and the M6 would creep back up.
Third run is the only one where the Z06 didn't really drift over into the other lane. A nice draft, about one car behind, makes a big difference.
Not sure why GM decided 5th gear in the Z06 needed to more or less be an overdrive gear. At 155/160 rpm is about 5000/5200, by around 200 mph it's only spinning around 6k...

Good races. I actually expected that once I saw how high a speed they were running it out to. The M6s have been known to have a higher top speed due to gearing but factory limited by a governor. M6 comes back hard deep into triple digits.
Oh and tuned*

Staging Lane
wow really surprised that M6 hung as well as he did. I'd have to say the Z06 driver must have been lacking to not pull away harder from him. I've raced a modded M6 before and had no problem walking away even with him taking the hit from behind. Yet I have a helluva race whenever I race against a well driven C6Z (3 wins, 1 loss).
And yes, the M6 I raced had mods: Exhaust for sure, and there was enough work done to easily walk away from the convertible M6 he was rolling with when I came across them.
