You'll love the smooth power and ability to mod the entire car if you find the need..looking to buy auto or 6 speed?

6speed car only....really looking for something more exciting then my auto GTP, the car will definitely be heavily modded probably have most of the suspension changed before I put 10miles on the car I hate the 4X4 stance from the factory

I had an XP cam setup in my Monte Carlo (went 12s on street tires with that setup) and went into a T-56 Z28 and dude these cars are not even in the same league lol. My Camaro is an absolute blast, you will not regret going with an LS1.

I would start with a 9in and a set of 3.90 or 4.10 gears depending on cu.in and cam choices

Sell the 10 bolt while you can

Yeah gonna get a new rear end after I make it have a little more power. Not gonna launch it or put DR on it until then. No way would I put anything higher then 3.73 gears in it, it's an M6 car

3.73's are good but you can go higher without affecting highway rpm much...even with 4.10 gear you can cruise at 75 no issues still seeing over 25mpgs....6th gear is a .5 ratio vs all other automatic transmissions where overdrive is .67-.74 or so...the 6th gear in a m6 is super tall!!

Yeah but I don't want first gear to be so short I have to manually shift through these gears I don't want a massive gear ratio in the rear

It'll be a street/strip car full suspension, built rear end, intake/headers/cam setup on stock heads

If you are going to be cam/bolt-on LS1 you might want to reconsider 4.10s

1st gear really wont be that short but will get the car rolling and ito its powerband allot sooner

I just did a 6 speed car with ls6 cam and ford 9in with 3.90 gears, he was like you and worried about first gear being to short...the car is about right but now he says he kinda wished he went 4.10

Remember when you cam a motor it moves the power band up, instead of shifting at say 6200 rpm, with a cam you may want to shift at 6,600 rpm so you will be in first gear and other gears longer.

before you pull the trigger ask other cam only 6 speed guys if they like 4.10 gears...

Alright ill consider it was leaning more towards 3.73s, I understand the racing aspect but this is still going to be daily driven all summer long, it's still gotta be practical
