Default Blew my motor today

So today I blew the motor in my 99 ss. It's only got 67k miles and the thing just grenades. So any ideas on what motor I should put in next? Look for displacement power. Anything good on a budget, and I still want to keep an LS powerplant.

Ouch! Sorry for the loss man. What are your HP goals? I would do a LS3 or something like that for a replacement.

I want around 500-550. I'm not sure what I'll do, I might buy another low mile ls1 and just swap all my parts over, or buy a built ls and throw it in there. Either way will cost big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

There was just a big puff a white smoke, then my water temp went to 300+ and had no oil pressure, then started knocking like a ****.

I had to get the car home, just a couple miles away. But I'm not sure why it blew up. Ran like a champ.

Its gettin sent off to straightline performance in a couple weeks to be rebuilt. Forged internals, heads/cam setup, and tune. Maybe nitrous

The amount of destruction sounds extensive i wouldn't put a dime into your old motor and either buy a 6.0 from a salvage yard and stick a cam in it and make an easy 400rwhp without breaking a sweat or do something like a ls3 if you want to spend some more money.
