Default Taking engine off stand?

Where are you guys hooking up the chain to move the engine from the stand to K member? I thought I saw a thread that suggested the alt bracket bolt and a bolt on the back of the head. I wanted to read it again to make sure but now can't find any threads on where to hook up the chain other than using the happy hooker.

If you have a happy hooker, why don't you use that?

In the past I've used a bolt on the front of each head - one in the front and one in the rear.

Bolts in the heads with a suitable chain will do just fine.

Ok great, just got back from fastenal with some grade 8 bolts. I'm gonna use the driver front (where the coil bolts to head) and passenger rear (above water crossover)

aint rocket science basically just find two places to get some 3/8" bolts into it, the place you are using is good as are intake to head bolts. I have even seen folks use exhaust manifold boltholes.

On carbed motors they routinely dangle the ending and tranny from the carb flange.
