I'm not sure what HP level or rpm your planning on running but I have a 427" LS engine that dyno'ed 670HP @ 6,900 RPM and I am running a 4-stage NRC Pro-Series dry sump pump and a 3.5 gallon capacity oil tank mounted in the trunk of the car. The dry pump was sized by the engine builder who also manufactures the pumps.
I run my car on road courses at track day events and have had good results with the 4-stage dry sump pump.
Here is a link to the website for NRC pumps... lots of info about dry sump pumps in general.

For high HP and high RPM motors 3 or more stages is the best way to go. If budget isn't an issue check out Dailey Dry sump, that's the setup I went with. Also check out ARE or Aviaid dry sumps.
