Default How Long Do Ports Jobs Last

Alright I've been doing alot of research on port and polish jobs for some 5.3 heads and one thing I haven't come across is, If I get my heads ported and polished how long will that job last and will they need another polishing in the future, if so then how many miles would it be good to pull them back off and go through them again?

I've never heard of needing to repolish for maintenance. It's an air passage and there should be nothing abrasive going into it. If there is I would think you would have bigger problems.

you mite need a valve job or replace valve guides every 100k ,if you have a really radical cam.cnc ported heads don't get polished.

They don't really need to be re polished, like garyngu said you may need a valve job at 100k or around there but they should not need polishing just a cleaning and they should be good to go.

once its done its done. Porting is to get more volume of air thru, polish is so the air flows smoothly without turbulance
