Default ls2 swap 01 chevy silverado

ok so my friends lq4 destroyed its self. so he bought an ls2 that i assembled. now im wondering if anyone knows if the PCM and CKP from the truck will read the sensor ring for the crankshaft position sensor properly.. i understand that some were 24 tooth and some are 58 tooth. any information on witch rign each engine uses or if we need to just get a new computer. thanks

I believe that up until Sept 2005 that the LS2 used a 24 tooth crank sensor, after that is moved to 58 teeth.
I'm not up to speed on the LQ4, but I believe all years at 24 tooth.

For any 58x engine you can still run the old 24 tooth PCM , just use the Lingenfelter 58x-24x converter box.
