Default Katech C5-R tming chain..

Few years back I installed a JP LS2 timing chain kit in my LS1, while under the knife this winter I noticed alot of slack in the JP LS2 chain. I was wondering if the Katech C5-R timing chain would be a compatible replacement or not for this kit

If the JP is running the stock LS2 chain, then yeah.

Talk to Brain Tooley about single roller timing chains.

This is what's going in mine.
