as I put this thing back together - I changed spark plugs and got a set of the MSD 8.5mm wires. Should I use nothing, the stock metal boots, or the heat socks? I only want to do this once and want the best protection, not looking for an award winning cosmetic engine bay. Thanks

My cousin has MSD wires close to the headers and he hasnt had any issues. YET. lol

The one on the left looks real good.

Are you using the 24x setup, or that just a reference pic? The metal boot covers will not fit over MSD boots. Kooks has pretty good plug clearance, the 1 3/4" at least. I run mine stock routing with no protection and do not have issues.

Oh whoops, thought I was in the LT1 section still . LT1 boots are 90 degree. Carry on.

Thanks all - yes, I do know the boots will bend and if the msd don't fit the metal ends I guess the decision is easy. Won't hurt anything to have the little bit of extra protection of the socks then?
