I kinda like the natural finish. It will sort of match my new LE 21* Trickflows that he is shipping out to me on Friday. I may leave it as-is for now.

One word of warning on sand blasting LE ported intakes.
The wall thickness of aluminum is very thin just above the injector holes where the ski slopes were removed and if you sand blast it after porting, the blasting will blow through these walls. If you have to sand blast for whatever reason, block these areas off before cleaning.
Mine got damaged and had to be repaired.

I had my my edlebrock LT4 intake ported by LE. When it went to be repowder coated, I didnt want red I wanted it black, it blew through right where wrd1972 said. The powder coat was the only thing holding it together. That could have been pretty bad with 20PSI of boost. I had to have the intake welded and cleaned up again before it could be coated.

I inspected mine and it doesn't seem to be have been overly-thinned anywhere. The porting quality is excellent and it looks amazing. I'll measure and inspect again when I get home from work.

While Im not doubting your friend had a problem with his intake, I will say that you are definitely one of the biggest LE haters on this site. This is not the first time you have chimed in to down his work. Im suprised you didnt tell me that I should have contacted AI.

You dont have to sandblast or powercoat it. Just use the high heat spray paint that VHT makes. I did that to my intake, 3yrs later and looks just as good, as the day I sprayed it. You just have to get it super clean, and put 3-4 coats on.
