Default Billy Briggs 365/LSA heads ECS YSi Build

With all the build threads I figure I might as do one as well, so here it goes.

It's a simple LS2 stock stroke deal. Rob@Champion motors gave me a sweet deal on a LS2 block and some Wiseco pistons.

Wiseco set me up with there K1 rods and crank.

Charlie@RPM motors put his CNC program on a set of LSA heads for me-I'l be posting pics and flow numbers soon for them.

ECS set me up with there 10 rib YSi kit.

Billy sent me some pics of short-just getting ready for assembly.

I'm sure alot of the hardcore racers know who Billy Briggs his-he really needs now introduction. He builds Tom Kempfs engine.

When I found out he was practically in my backyard, I had to go see him.
Real down to earth guy and super knowledgeable. Gave me a very reasonable price and time frame and he has stuck with it-you don't find that eveyday.

If anyone wants his contact info-just PM me.

Billy sent me some pics of short-just getting ready for assembly.

Pinned mains

I'll post more pics as I get them.

I would think over 1000hp, rods as well. Nice prices too.

Plan on taking the stock sleeves to the limit?

My goal is to make around 1000-1050 rwhp and Billy said no problem with those parts.

Are you planning to run more boost with smaller engine over 403ci? Maybe mid 8s?
Still LS6 and stock TB?

Looks good Arun. History tells us its gonna fly. Didn't you run an iron block before? Why the switch?

Thanks Jody, I finally put in a cage and chute in my car so I won't get kicked off the track-so I went with aluminum to offset the weight the cage added.

Thanks buddy.

I couldn't happier-Billy got the motor done on time as promised and even did a few other things that most builders don't.

He drilled tapped and plugged the DOD towers and he even welded the trigger wheel so it stays put.

I'm going to pick it up this week hopefully.

I got my heads back from being CNC ported and now I'm going to have a friend of mine hand finish them and put a a very smooth finish on the chamber.

Here's some pics of the heads Justin,

These are the LSA heads that Charlie@RPM motors CNC'd for me.

Since the goal is over 1K, I'm going to go one step further and send these to Brian Tooley to hand finish them and do his mirror finish on the chambers.

Some updates-almost all the parts are here so I started assembly this eve.

Got the cam in with single billet roller Billy Briggs ported oil pump.

Timing chain dampner installed

IWIS chain links

A look at my CNC LSA heads

ARP's on

LS9 gaskets on

Started torquing the heads with my new Armstrong Digital Torque wrench-not 100% sold on this yet.

1 heads is on

Tomorrow I'll bolt on the rockers and check or clearance for the 3/8's pushrods.
