Default EFI live ?

I paid a shop to tune my 2013 camaro --they used EFI live to tune it
if i was to change shops and have them tune it with HP tuners .would they be able to tune it ? or did they lock it up?

EFI LIve does not lock the PCM or make it incompatible with other tuner software. Whether or not the shop locked the PCM is a different issue. If they did lock it, that is an issue.

so just ask the shop not to lock my ecu and i should be fine?
do they do anything to protect there tune?

Every shop is different, Some shops Manually lock the controller, some don't.

Also if they use a custom operating system from either tuning software, then it may not be tunable either.

It is best to just ask the tuner first, if they lock them. If they don't, then you should be fine.

It goes both ways, as any software can lock your controller if they want it locked.

However, if they don't lock it, switching tuning software should never cause an issue. It is just a tool that is reading the hex tables and allowing you to modify them.
