02 WS6 with low miles, power steering pump was whining loud. Dealer replaced the fluid and it still whined. So they replaced the pump with a GM pump and now its even louder. It whines and growls all the time. They tried bleeding it on a lift but it didn't help.

They want me to drive it a bit and see if it gets any better before replacing the pump again. I'm not sure if they used a new gm pump or a rebuilt gm pump but I know its a gm unit.

I had a new power steering pump installed on my daily driver and it has a little whine to it. It's not too bad. I did a lot of internet searching and a lot of people are having the same problem. Since mine isn't that loud I didn't worry about it, but if it would have been on my Firehawk, I would be upset about it.

I think I found the trouble, Its a GM remaned pump.

get the TurnOne pump from Ws6 store.. didn't try it personally but hey anything is still better than GM.

I replaced the power steering fluid with DEXRON VI atf and most of the noise is gone.
